First Anniversary and our Celebration

An anniversary is an opportunity for you to celebrate the previous year that you have shared with your partner. You can look back over the ups and downs over the previous year - although hopefully there will have been more ups - and you can look forward to the upcoming year that you will be spending together. If you are just heading into a first anniversary with your partner, consider these tips on how to really celebrate it properly.

First of all, think about a gift to give to your loved one. There are all sorts of great gifts and presents that you could give in order to show how special they are to you. If we look at traditionally first anniversary gifts, then specifically consider something in paper. Cards, stationary, photos, poems, and a host of other gifts are appropriate when celebrating a first year together.
For the actual day, consider visiting somewhere meaningful to the two of you. Depending on your relationship this could be anywhere: where you went on your first date; where you proposed if you are married; where you took your first trip together. Alternatively, simply visit somewhere or do something that you have both wanted to do for some time, but have been saving for a 'special occasion' such as this.
Remember that this is a great opportunity for you to look back over the great times that you have has together during the year. Get out some pictures from the previous year or some videos of you having fun together. Reminisce together and recount some of your favorite experiences. If you have been married for a year then this is a great chance to look over your wedding pics and vids.
You should also be looking forward towards your future. One year isn't very long in a relationship, especially if it refers to your first year together as a couple, and not just your first year of marriage - something which could have come after many years together. Take this opportunity to think about all of the things that you have accomplished in the year and all of the things you would like to accomplish as a couple into the future. This will serve to further strengthen your bond.
Planning a special day is important. Anniversaries are there for a reason and you should always be looking to really get stuck in and have the best possible time that you can with your partner.
